Dr. Lupo and his staff at the Thyroid & Endocrine Center are proud to be associated with the University of Florida in offering an advanced thyroid ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy course designed specifically for endocrinologists who have some experience in thyroid ultrasound-guided biopsy but wish to further their skills in clinical Thyroidology.
This course will improve your skills in thyroid ultrasound-guided FNA biopsies while utilizing cytology adequacy assessment so you can consistently and confidently obtain satisfactory FNA samples. |

On average, five to six FNA's will be performed each day along with post-operative thyroid cancer surveillance ultrasound, parathyroid adenoma identification, and ultrasound follow-up nodule patients. Each FNA will provide time to learn specimen preparation techniques and determine specimen adequacy. Basic cytology will be taught in a lecture and microscope setting by one of the nation's leading thyroid Cytopathologists, Dr. Nicole Massoll.
Twenty-four (24) AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits™ will be awarded by the University of Florida. |

Dr. Lupo is a board-certified Endocrinologist with a subspecialty focus in thyroid and parathyroid disorders. Dr. Lupo is a member of the American Thyroid Association (ATA), American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), AACE Nuclear Medicine Task Force, AACE Ultrasound Course Faculty, ATA Programming Committee, Endocrine Society, Florida Medical Association, and American Mensa Society. Dr. Lupo also serves as President, Academy of Clinical Thyroidologists (2008 - 2009). |

Dr. Massoll is a board-certified Cytopathologist and Clinical Associate Professor, Director of Cytopathology & FNA Clinic, GYN and Breast Pathology within the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida. With expertise in thyroid, Dr. Massoll is currently focused on performing ultrasound-guided FNA, diagnostic terminology, adequacy and reporting of thyroid FNAÍs. |

Debbie Lawrence has over thirty years of management experience, including seventeen years of medical practice billing and management. Her expertise includes billing networks, medical coding, insurance coverage, authorizations, vendor management and contracts. |

Note: Course participants will receive hands-on training in diagnostic ultrasound but will utilize an FNA simulator for practicing FNA techniques. |
